Thank you Pfizer and Jessie Gunthrie for the six models of the human eye to our 3rd grade science materials. As you can see, the kids LOVED them!!! Mrs. Ryder and Mr. Hop's class had to much fun dissecting the cow's eye as part of our study of the eye and light energy. It was so funny how some of the kids were against touching the eyes to begin with, but by the end of the dissection they were asking me to do another one... LOL. Thanks again to all the parents who were such good sports in helping us.
Thank you to the Galesburg Fire Department for all your wonderful help today. We learned about fire prevention and how to stay safe if a fire happens in our homes. We had an amazing week with homecoming spirit week and MEAP preparations. The kids had so much fun wearing their PJ's to school, dressing like their favorite character (Mrs. Ryder was Harry Potter), proudly wearing their maroon and gold, etc. Parents, don't forget to send your child's surprise MEAP notes in this week to encourage them during their test. We will be traveling to the fire station Monday afternoon to learn about fire safety and meet our local fire fighters. Just a reminder, please turn your fundraisers in this Friday the 11th. The child who turns in the most money for the fundraiser will get to go shopping with a friend or take a friend to the arcade. Mrs. Ryder will pay for this and transport the winner. I can't wait! Have a great week everyone and don't forget to get lots of sleep each night before the MEAP and eat a great breakfast. |
